Saudi Arabia warns citizens against Ethiopia travel
Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry has warned citizens against traveling to Ethiopia, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The decision came following a cable from the kingdom’s Embassy in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa about ongoing violence against Muslims and arrests, including Saudi Arabian citizens.
In August, rights group Human Rights Watch reported that 17 leaders in the country’s Muslim community had been detained following protests against what Muslims claim is government interference in religious affairs.
The Interior Ministry’s warning will be in place until current tensions subside, SPA said.
